Itaewon is a region that can represent transnational spaces in Korea.
The name was derived from the station Itaewon (梨泰院) in the Joseon Dynasty.
Today, the site of Itaewon is located in front of the main gate of Yongsan High School and has many pear trees, so it was called Itaewon.
Yeokwon can be said to be a public accommodation where ordinary Gilson stayed in the Joseon Dynasty.
In the old records, in addition to Itaewon (梨泰 이름), there were other names such as Itaewon (李泰院) and Itaewon (異胎院) with different Chinese characters.
