Lesbos (Greece), 10 Jan, EFE, (Camera: Óscar Tomasi).- Thousands of refugees are stuck at the overcrowded Moria refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos. Eighty per cent of its residents are from Afghanistan. Refugees arrive in Greece on their route to Europe after travelling through Turkey from further east. Housed on the site of former military barracks that were designed to temporarily house 3,000 soldiers, the camp today holds close to 18,000 refugees on a popular tourist island with a population of 80,000. The overcrowding is such that the government is considering closing the camp.
