The Bindeballe Købmandsgård was opened by in 1897, the same year when Vejle-Vandel railway was established through the beautiful Vejle Valley.

Located opposite to the Bindeballe Station, the merchant's house served the local community and passengers from the train stop. When the Vejle-Vandel railways pitch was abolished in year 1957, the Købmandsgård still remain operation until today.

In 1973, Købmandsgård was took over by Maja and Reinholdt Jensen. Series of renovation has been done to the property to resemble Købmandsgård as it appeared in 1897. The private foundation (Bindeballe Merchant) is then established to preserve this unique piece of Danish cultural history. Thanks to the great effort from Maja and Reinholdt Jensen, the entire shop is preserved with its original form since 119 years ago.

The old-fashioned grocery is situated at the ground floor and with museum and exhibition upstairs.

Take a stroll to the courtyard and you will find the cosy cafe that serves delicious homemade Danish cakes, coffee, tea and local Danish beers.
