Statue of Bishop Absalon (1128-1201), the founder of Copenhagen
Slotsholmen Island (Castle Island), where Copenhagen began in the 12th Century (
Statue on horse of Frederik VII (1808-1863), crowned in 1848, last king in Denmark with absolute monarch power. After him, it became a constitutional monarchy.
Christiansborg Palace, since the 12th century, former house of royalty and current place of Parliament and also the Supreme Court.
Queen's wing on right, Parliament on left. It stands on Absalon's 12th century palace ruins. The birthplace of Copenhagen. Royals stayed here until they moved to Amalienborg Palace in 1794
A palace has been here since the 1100s, it is the birthplace of Copenhagen.
Most of the current building is from 1928.
Now it is the Parliament.
Queens Reference Library The library is often used by the Prime Minister for meals with foreign guests.
The Great Hall, with floor from 1600s, up to 400 guests for banquets, modern tapestries a gift to Queen Margrethe II in 2000. they narrate 1,000 years of Denmark's history
I noticed a free tour and joined it, but the lady was so long-winded and talkative that I left the tour after awhile.

The Flora Danica Cabinet, a dinner set of 1,802 items, was going to be given to Catherine the Great of Russia but it took 26 years to make and ended up staying in Denmark, used for special occasions since the early 1800s
