Keventer's is one of the oldest restaurants in Darjeeling and is popular for its english breakfast. It stands still at the Nehru road since 1911 and originally belonged to Mr. Edward Keventer, a Swedish person who had similar shops in various towns of colonial India like Kolkata, Lahore, Shimla etc. After independence he sold these shops to different persons and the one in Darjeeling was sold to a family from Nepal. The ownership changed hands for a few times untill it was finally bought by Mr. Jha and till now the restaurant is owned and managed by them. It is a must visit place in Darjeeling as the flavour that savours your tongue at Keventer's is found nowhere else in the town. The restaurant remains open from morning till 8p.m. and the prices of the items in their menu is quite affordable too. _____________________________________________________________________________________________
