Denmark Destination | Feel of Film
After enjoying the journey in Sweden, It was time to continue traveling. For this Scandinavian trip, I took a high-speed train from downtown Stockholm to the end of Malmo and transited to Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark. The highlight of this trip was at the Oresund Bridge, the longest bridge in Europe connecting Denmark and Sweden. This bridge is for both cars and trains. Its length is about eight kilometers.
It did not take me long from Malmo train station to Copenhagen train station. Exploring Copenhagen was very easy because various tourist attractions were within walking distance of each other. I arrived there very early in the morning, so most of the shops were still closed. The first place that I visited was Nyhavn, a 17th-century waterfront community. Houses and building were beautiful and colorful by the canal. There were chic restaurants and many alleyways to walk around. You would never get bored of this place! Moreover, the weather was nice, and local people in the city were lovely and friendly. From there, you could walk to other popular tourist attractions. Along the way, I regularly stopped to see various landmarks and take photos. As I had mentioned, those landmarks were not too far from each other. Therefore, tourists could rend bikes and explored the city by themselves.
The weather was a little cold. I walked around the city for a while. Then, I arrived at the National Museum of Denmark, which was near the old waterfront community. I learned about the history of Denmark and the Vikings. Inside, there were many exhibitions such as ancient weapons, jewelry from the middle ages and the Sun Chariot, which was one of the most valuable artifacts in the museum. I spent quite some time exploring this museum because I liked the display of ancient artifacts.
I left the Danish National Museum and walked through the city parks that were spread around the city. It was good to take a break there on my journey. Many families sat out and picnic during the day. Then, I arrived at Christiansborg Palace which was eight hundred years old. I went inside the palace and experienced stunning decorations. Also, I walked up to the tower to see the panoramic view of the palace. The lower part of the palace was the exhibition of the ruins of an ancient castle in the past.
After exploring the old town to its fullest, teenagers like me could not miss Strøget, one of the longest shopping streets in Europe. It was a pedestrian, car free shopping area in the central of Copenhagen. This street was full of many famous brand-named shops for tourists to enjoy shopping. There was a fountain in the center of the city called Amagertorv. For me, window shopping was enough. After spending some time there, I left to relax and prepared for my next journey.
Copenhagen is another city that I recommend. If there is a chance, I will definitely come back again. Overall the weather is nice and calm. Exploring the city is very easy and convenient. It is another European city that has it all.
