Traveled “home” in August 2019 with my big brother to say a final goodbye to our beloved aunt Katrin. She was my mother's big sister and they were very close. I've known my aunt all my life, and she was our point of reference when we visited the Faroe Islands. My aunt has always been so sweet and lovable to us children and we were always welcome in her house. It was therefore a sad and devastating journey. And yet we also got to explore our other homeland - the Faroe Islands

I love my other homeland ... Especially after I have grown older, it has become clear to me what legacy I have been enriched. I know deep inside that I belong to purely genetic, even though my country of birth is Denmark I belong here too ...

I am a tourist in love with exploring this beautiful paradise. I always feel a legacy but also a strong sense of recognition as I move around this realm.

I have lost all my elders, but the change of times is small and still the high mountains remain unchanged for generations and witness all the people who have loved and lived for thousands of years.

Here we visit Haldursvik and we are also at Fossa, a very famous waterfall not too far from the village. We are also in Tjørnuvík by the old houses and down on the beach with the black sand, where we can see the endless waves flush both violently and gently on the shore. Out in the endless horizon, you can see Risin and Kellingin standing up from the sea close to the cliffs, on the other side of the cliffs lies the small village of Eidí where my mother lived from when she was 10 years old.

The most cathartic and clensing place in the world... ~ Well... For me it is...

These hills so steep one’s eyes can’t comprehend and understand the magnitude, and hardship, pleasure and joy they have brung humans, and other life even before Man...
They have stood there billions of years, maybe even before dinosaurs and beginning of the world as we know it... Still untouched and innoscent like newborn children...

These hills and islands have endured and survived pirates, vikings and Kings trying to conquer the land... and they will still be standing there in all their untamed and proud glory once Man has outlived his own..

~ It´s not the Maldives, Spain or Greece. But its my heritage. My blood. And from where I`ve become without even knowing it, hundreds of years before I was even born.....

Makes one feel very small and humble......and amazed...

One day I'm gone too ... But first I want to know my motherland
