GemGfx Creates World Class Winning Brand For Tobago

In the month of March 2016, a design contest was held to find a logo and brand for the island of Tobago, W.I. For those who don’t know, Tobago is the sister island of the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. The contest was hosted by the Comprehensive Economic Development Plan (CEDP) Secretariat, Office of the Chief Secretary in collaboration with the Division of Tourism and Transportation, Tobago House of Assembly (THA). The invitation was to individual designers as well as design firms worldwide to submit designs that would reflect the theme “Tobago. Clean, Green, Safe, Serene”. In all, there were 115 entries from around the globe. This included the Caribbean, Finland, Denmark, Serbia, and Canada. I also submitted an entry into the contest. I received a call from the contest organizers informing me that mine was the winning entry.

This video is an excerpt from the program Let's Talk Tobago. A program highlighting news and events from Tobago produced by the Tobago House of Assembly. It features an interview I did in which I explained how I came up with the logo and brand.
