For anyone who thought the famous Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen, Denmark, was in a peaceful and calm location - here are the summer crowds taking their selfies and photos, jostling for position!

Filmed using my iPhone SE on August 13th, 2018, this video shows sightseers gathering near the bronze statue of the Little Mermaid (Den Lille Havfrue), which sits atop rocks by the waterside at the Langelinie promenade.

We were there on a Baltic cruise on the cruise ship CMV Columbus, which had docked nearby. As stated in the video, it was our second visit to the statue, which was crafted in bronze by Edvard Eriksen and unveiled In 1913.

Based on the 1837 fairytale by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, the Little Mermaid is surprisingly small and unimposing up close - but remains a major tourist attraction and a globally recognised symbol of Copenhagen.

This video always features some footage of Nyhavn, the 17th century waterfront, canal and entertainment district in Copenhagen - with its famous terraces of colourful buildings.
