Queen's House is a former royal residence built between 1616–1635 in Greenwich, for Anne of Denmark, the queen of King James I. Queen's House is one of the most important buildings in British architectural history, being the first consciously classical building to have been constructed in the country. The Tulip Stairs that you see here are the first centrally unsupported helical stairs constructed in England. The stairs are supported by a combination of support by cantilever from the walls and each tread resting on the one below. Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com.

This video is part of my SHORT CLIP video collection. SHORT CLIPS are a collection of mine of short videos, around 60 seconds in duration and with no commentary, that show a particular part of the world as it was the moment of videotaping. The aim here is for the viewer to see and experience the place just as I saw it and experienced it. All sounds are preserved exactly as they were recorded.
