We went to explore two of the attractions in the Burdur region of Turkey.

Burdur is generally unknown to tourist, but that doesn't mean, that there is not some beautiful hidden gems in this area.

Sagalassos, also known as Selgessos and Sagallesos is an archaeological site in southwestern Turkey. The City lays on Mount Akdağ at an altitude of 1450–1700 metres. Human settlement in the area goes back to 8000 BCE, before the actual site was occupied. In Roman Imperial times, the town was known as the "first city of Pisidia"

Insuyu Cave was discovered in 1952 and opened to public in 1965. A second cave beyond the show cave was later discovered. The lakes inside the both caves are in danger of drying due to excessive drilling of wells in the valley above - or maybe already dead, since there was no water in them, while we where there.
