The Little Mermaid is a literary fairy tale by the Danish Author Hans Christian Andersen.Carl Jacobsen was in love with the story and he asked Edward Eriksen to make an sculpture using the pattern of the ballerina Ellen Price.But Ellen doesn't want to be naked so it ends up using the face of Ellen and the body of the Eriksen wife.The sculpture was given as a gift to Denmark and decided to put it in the harbour.Since then it became the famous landmark or icon of Denmark.
