Footage from the very first few minutes after the opening of Inderhavnsbro, the Inner Harbor bridge, in Copenhagen whcih connects Christianshavn and Nyhavn. The bridge is famous for its scenic placement right off the edge of Nyhavn which made the on-going disaster of it's failed opening in February 2013 quite painful and a horrible eyesore.
The bridge has been plagued by issues. First they went bankrupt, then the engineers goofed and bridge, which meets in the middle, didn't align properly. Later part of the bridge sank, winches were under-powered, you name it. So, now, finally, it is open and functioning! It's an awesome addition because not only does it connect what was the somewhat remote chunk of Christianshavn directly near the Opera House, but it also provides a nice view down along Nyhavn.
The bridge also is set to help alleviate some of the pressure on nearby Knippelsbro which is used by about 40,000 cyclists every day. Not bad right?
