They say here in Scandinavia you can experience four seasons in one day. That certainly happened on this 5 days bushcraft camping trip. I was actually there for a full week, took two days off from filming for the heck of it. Didn't film the first 2 days, so when the video starts I'm already in it for two nights. The weather was truly nuts. Most of the time cold but sunny, then rain or light snow would come in the same day. Calm winds one minute, crazy wind storm gusts the other. First few nights weren't too cold so I did not bother using the stove, but on the last days I was getting -10 celcius at night. Great fun.
I took some shots of me packing/unpacking my gear and food bag, for the curious out there. The secret is in organization. A little OCD packing goes a long way.
I made 4 paintings on this trip, threw 2 of them in the fire (subpar) but managed to come home with 2 good small painting studies for larger work. I also carve a Brummer ( Scandinavian word for bull roarer ). It's an ancient ritual musical instrument and a device historically used for communicating over great distances, you can learn more about them by googling "bullroarer". They are great fun to carve and use.
I hope you are all keeping safe from the invisible threat out there that shall not be named, and that this video brings you some distraction and takes you to a calm and relaxed place. Take care of yourselves. New videos every week, thanks for watching! - Ric
