Yogalayam faaborg at Denmark founded by Yoga couples ... An Indian spiritual master Yogacharya , yoga sironmani Guruji karthikeswara and Ninni maa scholarly artist of many fields , yoga teacher , psychotherapist , adviser , counsellor .

Yogalayam faaborg , Is the first and only Indian yoga meditation Retreat center located at the hills of diarnes at faaborg Denmark.

Ninni Sparrewath went to India and met yoga master Guruji Karthikeswara. They were married and now has opened yoga center outside Faaborg

And now in the hills of Diernaes ...

It is not easy to see it. But it is good enough.There, in the house inside right, is Faaborg's new yoga center.

"Yogalayam", says a nice, new sign in the driveway. There lives Ninni Sparrewath and Guruji Karthikeswara.

But it's a long story, starting three or four years ago a totally different place ...

Ninni Sparrewath trained psychotherapist and has been meditating for years. More than most.

But it was as if there still was something missing in her life, such a purely spiritual and spiritually.A longing for a greater love. A joy in life. A deeper meaning of it all.

Then she looked on. And then, one day for three or four years ago, she spotted something on the web. A kind of time in a Facebook profile belonging to an Indian yoga master, Guruji Karthikeswara.

She wrote to him. But he did not answer. He was too busy with his yoga.

So finally she called him. A late evening.

- Well then come to me in India, he said ...

Ninni Sparrewaths entourage was a bit skeptical.To just go to India, down to a strange man she did not know ... Could it be going well?

In love with Nepal

But Ninni did it. She traveled to India and met his guru.

She was two months from Guruji Karthikeswara and learned a lot about yoga and life.

Later came a part of traveling between India and Denmark. But at some point they took along on a trip two months in Nepal.

It was here that they were in love.

- She asked if I would marry her. I never said no, even though I really had to hurry to get married.But women may well do everything by one, smiling Guruji Karthikeswara at its characteristic Indian-English dialect.

They decided to settle down in Denmark. The obtained family reunification as Guruji Karthikeswara could enter the country and stay here.

Yoga Center at Diernaes

On 1 July this year bought the house on Healthy Bjergvej 14 between Faaborg and Diernaes.

This is where they have now adapted yoga center - the only one in the country with genuine Indian yoga.

Inside, there is a separate fine yoga room with mattresses in garish colors like in India. On the back of the house, the garden, they built a large, beautiful terrace, where you can also do yoga.

- And so it is our plan to organize yoga room also on the first floor, says Ninni Sparrewath and Guruji Karthikeswara.

Over on the other side of the road are the remains of an old, dilapidated building. It also belongs to the grounds.

- Here we have plans to eventually make a meditationshus, where you can just go in and sit in peace and quiet and meditate, the couple says.

They are already slowly started to teach yoga, and the first team starts properly next week.

And there is plenty to be done.

- Yoga needs updating in the West. Technically, it is fine enough with the exercises, but humanly missing much. Yoga is about uniting body, mind, emotions and life energy. When all four components are present, we have real yoga. I would say that only seven percent is present in the West, says Guruji Karthikeswara.

For Ninni Sparrewath is a bit of a dream to have ended up here.

- I have family roots here in Faaborg area, and I've always dreamed of a time getting to stay in Diernæs, she says, looking out over the countryside, with rolling cornfields and grazing cows, standing and staring at their new neighbors .
