Costa Rica announced Thursday that it will again receive flights from the other Central American countries. Gustavo Segura, the Tourism Minister, said that Costa Rica’s two major international airports will be permitted to receive Central American flights as of October 15. The six Central American countries, ( Belize, El Salvador, Guatamala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama) join Mexico, the United States, Canada, Uruguay, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and several Asian nations as countries from which citizens and residents can visit Costa Rica. The minister also said an extension of the visiting/sunset hours of the beaches from 05:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time. GREAT NEWS!

Tourism welcomes all States from the United States starting November 1st. High season for tourism is December, so this really isn't a surprise Costa Rica is starting to roll things along. All the requirement for entering Costa Rica are below. The States and countries that are currently allowed to come to Costa Rica now are also below.

Requirements for tourists to enter Costa Rica

1.All people entering Costa Rica must complete the digital epidemiological form. This is known as the “Health Pass” or “Pase de Salud.” Click here for a link- https://salud.go.cr/

2. Tourists/visitors must acquire a negative PCR-RT coronavirus test. The sample for this test must have been taken at most 72 hours before the flight to Costa Rica.

3. Tourists must purchase travel insurance that covers accommodation in case of quarantine and medical expenses due to COVID-19. This policy can be international or purchased from Costa Rican insurers. The travellers insurance Travel Costa Rica NOW recommands, which is the bare minimum but does meet the requirements to enter Costa Rica. If you have any questions about the insurance, email our guy, Johnny at info@greenhealthcarecr.com ***it should be stated, if you don't have insurance when you enter Costa Rica, you can still get it before passing thru immigration via internet (not recommended) just sayin.

4. Tourists from the United States before November 1st, must demonstrate, via their driver’s license or State ID, that they live in one of the authorized states.

5. You need to show a return ticket within 90 days. There are no 1-way tickets to Costa Rica, you must show you are leaving within 90 days. *Nicaragua & Panama land border crossings are not an option at this time. It has to be a flight.

This is what they said, (no duh) "The past two months have shown international tourism can help reactivate the economy while remaining a relatively low coronavirus risk. Since Costa Rica reopened its airports to select locations in August, no COVID-19 cases have been associated with foreign tourists."

Costa Rica Welcomes All US States Starting Nov. 1st - *Requirments - Travel Insurance - Covid Test'

These countries are currently allowed in Costa Rica- Germany, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Jamaica, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Uruguay, Korea, Japan, Singapore, China and Thailand.

Requirements for citizens- -Proof of citizenship (e.g. a cédula). -A completed Health Pass form- https://ccss.now.sh/ Citizens will be issued a 14-day quarantine order. However, if a citizen comes from an authorized country/state and has a qualifying coronavirus test result, they will be not be issued a quarantine order.
