blue whale in India -A 30-foot whale washed up on the Juhu beach in Mumbai on Thursday night. The whale, said to weigh around four tonnes, was spotted after 10 pm. Police and forest department officials are examining the animal, which experts say is a Bryde's whale. Cranes have been called in to remove the remains. Officials believe the whale has been dead for two or three days.

dead whale in san francisco-A gray whale that was found dead on a San Francisco beach was hit by a ship. The 41-foot-long adult female was spotted Monday at Ocean Beach. It's the ninth whale found dead in the San Francisco Bay Area since March.

The clip, which was shown of Faroese Television, has since gone viral, racking up millions of hits on YouTube alone. The dead whale had been lying on the beach for two days, after getting stuck in the waters between two islands, when marine biologist Bjarni Mikkelsen was sent to cut it open. As he made incisions in the whale's side the carcass exploded due to a buildup of methane gas from the decomposition creating a loud sound and releasing a pungent smell.
