The Serdika cinema was located underneath the hotel Serdika in Sofia, Bulgaria and was the first cinema in Bulgaria to feature Dolby Surround system in the eighties. When Star Wars was announced, people piled in enormously long lines, wanting to see the movie with the new sound technology allowing them to experience the star ships "as if they are really flying through the cinema hall". Nowadays it is being demolished for the upcoming building of a Hayat hotel on it's place.
