Being in Iceland, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit ???????? Greenland, since the only way to get to her via airplane is from Iceland or Denmark. We took an Air Iceland Connect flight out of RKV early in the morning to Ilulissat, above the Arctic Circle on the western side of Greenland, from where it’s believed the Titanic’s iceberg originated.

Our Iceland hotel graciously held our larger luggage pieces, securely, while we were in Greenland, having it ready for us upon our return. RKV airport has luggage-sized lockers inside should you need that as an option (you'll need a cc for payment). There were stricter luggage limits for our flight to Greenland, plus, we didn’t want to haul more than necessary.

????The native people of Greenland are anciently related to the people I had the privilege to meet in Alaska: from the Iñupiaq of Utqiaġvik (formerly called Barrow), to the Yupik and Aleut in Alaska, to Inuit I met who came from northern Canada. Though it seems commonplace and convenient, please don’t refer to any of these noble people as “Eskimos.” It is considered derogatory. Also, understand you are not only visiting a different country, you are being offered the opportunity to experience an ancient native culture. I say this understanding I had a very comfortable "1st world" level of accommodation while there, but I was still in their place, where they've made their lives a meeting point of the past and future. (I had hoped to visit one of the local Inuit villages but it was unavailable.) Please be respectful and mindful.
