If you’ve got $4,000 and an insatiable hunger for privacy, have we got the vacation rental for you. Take a 15 minute boat ride off the coast of Belize, and you’ll arrive at Kanu Island, a 2.5 acre strip of land that’s surrounded by crystal blue water and absolutely no other humans except the friends you take along.
The island, a new vacation rental property that launched earlier this summer, is home to five 1,000-square-foot villas that are outfitted in classic island style—think rattan furniture, vaulted bamboo ceilings, and outdoor showers. Every villa has a spacious master bedroom and a living area, while a few include a loft for children. The island can hold up to 20 people, which works out to a starting nightly per person rate of around $200.

The dwellings are nestled on one side of the island with a pathway that leads to a thatch-roofed common area, home to a billiards table, dining area, and fresh water pool with a swim-up bar. This being an island, there’s not much in the way of restaurants so the rental also comes with a private chef, who we can only assume will be up for making you unlimited piña coladas, if you so choose.
