(29 Jan 2021) Protesters gathered at the Czech government building in the country's capital Prague on Friday to demonstrate against COVID-19 restrictions.
One man was arrested in the protests for alleged aggression against police officers.
The Czech Republic reimposed COVID-19 restriction measures ahead of Christmas due to rising coronavirus infections, which included the closing of bars, restaurants and hotels.
Other demonstrators stood in front of one of the entrances of the building blocking its entrance as part of a ceremonial gesture.
Official cars can use an entrance on the other side of the building so government officials could still come and go.
As part of the measures all stores, except those selling essential goods such as food and medicine, are closed in the country.
There is a daily curfew nationwide from 9 o'clock at night until 5 o'clock in the morning.
On Thursday, the government announced that people could only stay in hotels in the county on legitimate business trips, with a signed letter from their employer and they could not bring family along.
Previously, some people had flouted the law by claiming to be working in a home office at a hotel and bringing their family along for a vacation.
