At least three people were reportedly killed following a car bomb attack on a hotel in Mogadishu on Sunday.

The explosion reportedly took place as an explosives-laden vehicle crashed into the entrance gate of the city's Afrik hotel at around 17:00 (14:00 GMT). Gunfire was reported to have followed the car bomb attack.

Ambulances and security forces were seen on the street outside the hotel.

Six people were reportedly wounded in the attack, which was claimed by al-Shabab.
