Next year on August 21, 2017, the United States will get to witness a total eclipse of the sun, and twelve states in the United States will get to experience the moons shadow. Astronomers say it will go from Oregon to South California. Scientists are starting to prepare for the spectacle now, because it won’t happen again until 2024. This time of eclipse is rare and it is called a solar corona. According to a scientist named Pasachoff, “Only on days of eclipses can we put together a complete view of the sun.”
